Life consists of many obligations: Luke 2:52
- Intellectual: Grow in Wisdom
- “Wisdom is as good as an inheritance; yea, more excellent is it from them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom preserveth the life of him that hath it” (Eccl. 7:11-12).
- “The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction; To discern the words of understanding; To receive instruction in wise dealing, In righteousness and justice and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion: That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; And that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels” (Prov. 1:1-6).
- Physical: Grow in Stature
- “For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me” (Psa. 18:39).
- “The glory of young men is their strength; And the beauty of old men is the hoary head” (Prov. 20:29).
- Spiritual: Grow in favor with God
- “My son, forget not my law; But let thy heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and years of life, And peace, will they add to thee. Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding In the sight of God and man” (Prov. 3:1-4).
- “A good man shall obtain favor of Jehovah; But a man of wicked devices will he condemn” (Prov. 12:2).
- Social: Grow in favor with Man
- ” A man shall be commended according to his wisdom; But he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised” (Prov. 12:8).
- “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favor rather than silver and gold” (Prov. 22:1).
- “That which maketh a man to be desired is his kindness; And a poor man is better than a liar” (Prov. 19:22).
- “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favor rather than silver and gold” (Prov. 22:1).
Whatever path you take in life remember that it is to you, and you alone that accountability will be exacted.
